US Army to address parents’ blocked access to teen medical records. Izaguirre, the U.S. Army Surgeon General, said the service was working to give military parents access to their teen children's medical records. To military parents who are frustrated because they can’t get access to their teenagers’ medical records, the U.S. Army Surgeon General has a message: “We share your concern,” and are working to address it. For now, parents must go to the patient administration offices at their military treatment facilities and have their teenage children sign consent forms to give parents permission for access to their medical records. Feedback analyzed comments received in the Federal Register, following a Defense Department solicitation in March for comments and suggestions from military families on how DoD could improve their quality of life.
